  • Salem Cats

    Ongoing exhibit featuring an incomplete, but expanding history of cats in and around Salem, MA. 40+ Artifacts in the exhibit are from a variety of eras proving cats have been popular in the area since their arrival in colonial times until today.

  • Cats & Contemporary Art

    The Salem Cat Museum’s permanent art collection contains 200+ works, many of which are from the late 20th and 21st centuries. The current display features 70+ works by both local and internationally known artists in various formats such as drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, et cetera.

  • Cat Decorations: Mid-Century - Present

    The Cat Museum’s collection of 100+ cat artifacts from 1940s-onwards that can’t be classified as art or being about Salem, but can be classified as fun or educational to cat-curious people.

  • Cat Library

    The Salem Cat Museum has hundreds of cat books published from the early 20th century to today housed in the cat library. New volumes are constantly being acquired.
